to record a Keith Tippett composition And After All It Was
in the studio in April 2003. Dedicated to the memory of Keith's mother
Kitty this 25-minute piece was commissioned and performed by Kokoro
but as yet no recording exists. The new line-up has never played in
public as a unit and would require rehearsal. |

| Keith
Tippett's current major jazz big band which unites some of the best
contemporary jazz and free improvising musicians from the UK scene
of the last thirty years. The repertoire currently consists of one
long composition First Weaving (approx. 80 minutes), Keith's
tribute to and celebration of the first hundred years of jazz. Full
of melodies the piece is typically fresh and forward-looking with
room for every single musician to stretch out in solos and group work.
